A date... I mean Interview with Najwa Latif. :P #MSMW2012

Me: So, when did you start youtubing?
Najwa Latif: Well, I started around 2 years ago.

Me: Okay, and what inspired you to do so?
Najwa Latif: Well, actually I started youtubing because of my dad and my sis. This one time I just started to learn how to play a guitar but so I was not very spirited to practice. But then my dad and my sis suggested like, "why don't you record yourself and put it on youtube? So, from there we can see how you are", and that was how it started.

Me: How long did it take you to learn to play like you are playing now?
Najwa Latif: About six months like that and I could play the guitar normally but only the simple chords and not the complicated ones as I haven't tried them yet.

Me: Okay. Oh, and what about your song, the song that boosted you to stardom, "Cinta Muka Buku". What inspired you to make that song? Was it from experience or made simply on a normal day?
Najwa Latif: *laughs* actually no. I discovered the melody to that song while I was just sitting around playing a cover of a Justin Bieber song. Then I got a simple melody and straight away called my sis, cause whenever I make a song I usually call my sister and she was on Facebook at the time. So, from there we got the idea. We don't have any experience of love on Facebook or anything like that, no. *giggles*

Me: *laughs* so, what are your plans after this if any?
Najwa Latif: Well, next week, Insyallah my third single will come out, "Kosong" and I guess that's about it for now. At the moment I'm busy promoting my third single, as well as my mini album which will come out in either the March or April.

Me: Alright. Finally, any words of inspiration to your fans out there?
Najwa Latif: If you feel like you have talent to sing, believe in yourself, keep going and don't be afraid to do anything. :)

Interview w/ Awi Rafael & The Runaways

This one is also long overdued from after the Sunday Afternoon Jam. Asyari Amir (AA), Awi Rafael (AR). Have a look;

AA: So, Awi, this is your first or second show? And before this how long have you been a band?

AR: This is our first show with this band. Also, this band was formed 3 days ago.

AA: So, this is literally your first show and this band was formed for this show.

AR: Yeah, as I’ve said this is our first show and thankfully this will be the complete band.

AA: So, have you had any vocal training before this as your vocals are quite strong and have you been with another band before?

AR: Haha, not really. I just sing in my bedroom and yes, I have been with another band before and so have my other current band members.

AA: So, what is your band name? Was there any rejected names? And is there any upcoming concert or album and such?

AR: Oh, the band name is Awi Rafael and the Runaways. One of the rejected name we had for the band was “the Everydays” but it felt a little small so we picked “the Runaways” instead. As for the other question, our album is coming up next month, music video coming out next week and the album launch schedule can be found on my Facebook, facebook.com/awirafaelmusic.

Interview w/ Mizz Nina

This is a long overdued interview that I did with Mizz Nina after the Sunday Afternoon Jam (I know right?) Asyari Amir (AA), Mizz Nina (MN)... Anyway, here it is:

AA: You performed for the Esquire MY Launch and there were some technical problems, how do you feel about that?

MN: Well, I know that there was some kind of a helicopter presentation before I went up and I knew that while I was performing they were testing the sound., I was kind of upset but at the same time I knew the show had to go on. So I just did it.

AA: Well overall, it was a great show, full of energy and entertaining. What about career wise, any upcoming album or concert?

MN: Yeah, I will be opening for Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber. So, there’s a lot going on in April but after April I’ll be going off to France. Apparently there is a lot of Malaysian students there. They are bringing me down and they will bring Hujan and Tilu band there as well. Then, I’m working on my new album and some new singles. After that would be the wedding.

AA: How long have you been engaged to Noh Hujan and how long have you known each other?

MN: Well, we’ve been dating for about a year before we got engaged and I’ve known of him since 2008.

AA: It seems like your opening for all the famous upcoming celebs from the west now a days starting from Colby O’ Donis and then now Bruno Mars 7 Justin Bieber. Do you believe that you are blessed?

MN: Yeah, very lucky. I’m very bless, syukur Alhamdulillah. My first ever show real live was with Usher and that was even before my launch. I’m very blessed to be able to work with so many talented people and being on a really good platform.

AA: That’s good. So, when is the wedding, the exact date?

MN: The wedding is in July, 1st July to be exact.
