So, I joined this photography contest on PETRONAS's Facebook page. Although they haven't published it yet but basically what my picture is... well, it's actually spontaneous. Hahaha, I wasn't even planing on using it for anything. I was at Sunway Pyramid one day and saw this amazing decoration.
I must say, Bravo to the people who did this decoration as it is truly stunning and very beautiful. It really captures the essence of both the Chinese New Year as the dragon, in my opinion is a symbol of strength, energy and honour and the year that we are in which people call the dragon year. Plus, this dragon, the eastern version is a lot more elegant then its western counterparts as portrayed in many paintings and story. Which I think is why I was so compelled to take a picture of this when I did... cause it Reimagines Energy.
Don't forget to vote for my picture by liking HERE!, Please & Thank You! :3
This
Chinese New Year, PETRONAS stays true to the common tradition and values that
bind all Malaysians together in the underlying messages of its television commercial
(TVC) to usher the year of the Golden Dragon.
The essence of the TVC lies in the struggle that each individual goes
through in life – be it working two jobs, or having to be the head of the
family at a young age, as in the case of the little boy in China. What is of
more significance is how each of these individuals adapts to the changing
times, turning challenges into opportunities, and always seeing the positive in
the negative – powerful universal messages that transcend cultural,
generational, creed and ethnicity barriers.
The TVC is meant to celebrate not just the Year of the Dragon, but the
spirit of perseverance, adaptability and determination as captured in each of
the stories it depicts. This energy is something that should inspire
us all as we navigate through the challenges we face in life,
- PETRONAS’
Senior General Manager of Group Corporate Affairs Division Dato Mohammad Medan
Abdullah.
Apart
from the TVC, PETRONAS is also organising a photography contest themed Reimagining
Energy™, in collaboration with Leica Camera AG. To
participate, all that the members of the public have to do is to capture their
Chinese New Year moments that best depict the spirit of Reimagining Energy™,
submit their photos via PETRONAS’ Facebook page app HERE! and stand a chance to win great prizes.
Prizes
will be awarded to the individuals of the winning photos. These photos will
also be displayed and exhibited at Galeri PETRONAS. In
addition, PETRONAS will also be conducting photography workshops at selected
schools and colleges, to help youths express themselves through photography as
well as improve their skills. Enjoy the TVC below;
Yesterday, I went to this Blogger's First Aid Workshop held at MAHSA UC on Jalan University and I tell you, it was definitely awesome and informative at the same time. I now know how to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation or a.k.a. CPR on adults which is a really good thing cause you never know when you're going to need it.
Of course this was only the basics of the whole area on CPRs. A full course on CPR would take up to two (2) days+an exam at the end in which you will receive a certificate to show that you are a certified innocent bystander capable of performing a proper CPR when needed on anyone and everyone of different ages and gender. Below are pics of me learning to perform CPR properly as guided by the instructors.
Try to wake up the unconscious person.
Check for breathing.
Tilt head back and give breath/Kiss of Life twice while checking the person's chest to make sure air is getting through. If not, reposition head.
Afterwards, check for a pulse in the neck area which if still not available, start doing compressions on the chest for thirty (30) times at a medium fast pace. Repeat 30:2 ratio for 5 times.
Afterwards, we had lunch and a tour of the MAHSA UC campus. It's really nice, beautiful and well equipped with state of the art IT equipments to help the students learn and understand easier as well as different useful facilities both education oriented and recreational.

So, right now I'm reviewing the new GALAXY Tab 10.1 by Samsung and it's quite the tech. It features the Samsung's own TouchWiz user interface implemented on the Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) platform whichgives you awesome interaction & navigation. It also has sharper HD quality screen. Not forgetting the dual speaker (one on each side) provides a more surround-sound.
The GALAXY Tab 10.1
FYI, it's also thinner then iPad 2 by 0.2mm making it the thinnest mobile tablet available at only 8.6mm and at 565g in weight. Oh, btw, I'm actually blogging using the new GALAXY Tab 10.1. The wifi is kinda low and laggy, also the typing function is a little pesky but the tab itself is awesome. There's two colors so far which is Black & White, black having matte and white having glossy back respectively. The screen is a WXGA TFT LCD display (1280x800) which is powered by 1GHz dual core AP.
Me blogging about it.
The 2 different colors it comes in.

The GALAXY Tab 10.1 in comparison to the original/first GALAXY Tab.
The GALAXY Tab 10.1 also have Live Panel also helps you customize your widgets in terms of size to fit in more or have less. However, the Mini Apps Tray is not something new thus it was of no surprise to me. Overall, it is a good piece equipment to have and a little better then the iPad 2 in terms of thinness, camera and screen quality.
Il Volo, which means “Flight” in Italian, consists of three talented guys -- Piero Barone (17), Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble (both 16), who hail from Sicily, Italy. The group’s self-titled debut album is a stellar showcase of astonishing vocal talent by these three young singers. They take on a range of new and traditional classically influenced pop songs with the vigour and grandeur of opera.
Cute boys with awesome voices.
(These boys better have bodyguards or they are gonna have a hard time with single & available girls of all ages)
Their first self-titled album was recorded in 2010 in the Abbey Road Studios in London and produced by Tony Renis and Humberto Gatica. It was released in Italy on November 30, 2010 and peaked at number 6 on the Italian Albums Chart, receiving the Gold certification by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry.
The international edition of the album was released on April 12, 2011 and was promoted in the United States with a performance during the final 3 results show of the American Idol’s tenth season. The group sang “O Sole Mio”, which was released as a single in the United States in early 2011. The album debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and at number 1 on the Classical Albums, selling 23,000 copies in its first week. The album is also entered at the Top 10 in other countries, such as Belgium, France and the Netherlands and topped in Austria.
It was released also a Spanish version of the album, that in the United States, peaked at number 5 on the Latin Pop Albums, at number 8 on the Top Latin Albums and at number 3 on the Classical Albums.
These Italian teen tenors (who looks like The Jonas Brothers but sounds like Il Divo guys), Il Volo have taken the world by storm with their incredible vocal talent and gift for putting an opera spin on new and classically-influenced pop songs.
